I am looking to buy a dive watch. I have pretty much decided that I will get a Citizen but I am not sure how to get information about the various models and the features and prices of each one. I cant seem to find one place that sells the whole line(s).
From the responses on the original message, I dont think Ive been lucky at all. If the manufacturer were to take into account all of the testimonials from owners (as wells as others that had flooded watches), they could probably establish a new rating (backed by additional testing of course). Then again they wouldnt have the profit margins that the dive watches create. This is common with engineering designs (the fact that the watches seem to withstand more than the designers had planned). Ive been in 45 deg. water and 93 deg. water diving (with this same watch and at various depths). Maybe we can conduct an unscientific survey of divers and their watches and draw some conclusions from that. Dont get me wrong, I do understand your comments, but how often (if any) do people have problems with those expensive dive watches anyway? Just a question to throw out there. 100M is more than twice the depth Ive ever dove (136). How would you calculate the minimum?

But by far the MOST useful benefit of this gizmo is the ability to download the detailed every-5-sec. depth info (the detailed dive profile) to a PC and view or print the graph of the profile, together with summary data AND some space for entering comments about each dive. The graph is a very valuable source of info to LEARN from each dive -- whether you have done only 1, or over 10,000 dives.
Its a dive WATCH -- but thats the LEAST of its benefits. Its useful as a log and recorder of DIVE-DATA, start/stop/sit time, temp every 5 minutes, depth every 5 sec., max/ave of depth for dives. You can retreive the SUMMARY data (directly from the watch) of the latest 30 dives.
